The Back-in-Action Logo was designed to represent our values and the unique approach we offer to help you.

The image at the centre of the logo was reflects the importance of helping you achieve good posture to help you recover and prevent recurrences. It depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs a part and inscribed within a circle and a square. It is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci  known as the ‘Vitruvian Man‘ and explores his idea of the relation of the elements of the human body to each other and to the whole, which he believed to be analogous to the workings of the universe. The sketch reveals reveals various average proportions of the human body such as body height being about equal to arm span and many others. The Vitruvian Man highlights the structural side of Chiropractic Care and inspires us to remember to help you holistically.

Around the central image are the words Physical, Chemical and Neural. Whether you are suffering from back pain, neck pain, headaches or other conditions, underlying these problems are patterns of stress. By helping you learn to reduce the different stresses on your system we can help you to help you get back in action and enjoying life again. The different stresses contributing to your problem could be physical (such as your posture, foot position, strength and flexibility, sitting technique, work demands etc), chemical (what you are eating or drinking, not eating or drinking, environment, how effectively you can absorb and eliminate etc) and neural (how well your nerves are working, your mood, thoughts, balance, sensory feedback etc.). Each of these stresses can be structural or functional and are interdependent i.e. your physical structure and function will affect your nervous  system and your chemical health and vice versa.

We have found from experience that you will respond most effectively to our care if we stay open to and help you deal with all the different the stresses that are affecting your recovery. Helping you get better is helping you to peal away all the onion layers of compensations that have built up to the point when you can function again and do all the things that you want to do. The Physical, Chemical and Neural part of our logo reminds us that we need to treat you holistically to really help you.

The circle of hands in our logo has a few layers of meaning. The colour of each hand represents trying to help you through different stages of recovery. For example the lowest hand from black to red is when you are in severe pain (8-10 out of 10). The yellow colour represents minimal pain (0-1 out of 10). Depending on your goals we can continue to help you to build resilience (green-blue) and wellbeing (purple-white).

Chiropractic means ‘practising by hand’ and like all our therapists and staff, we are offering a helping hand. The circle of hands represents that we are working as a team in a community to help you and we have the capacity to help you at and through different stages of your recovery depending where you are and where you want to get to.
