Helen is a very skilled and experienced Physiotherapist who has worked for many years within the NHS, Private Practise and Elite Sport. Since qualifying in 1987 she has helped a diverse range of clients suffering from pain and discomfort caused by a wide variety of joint, muscle, ligament and nerve conditions.  She also specialised in Upper Limb problems treating patients with Upper Limb Problems including Neck, Shoulder, Elbow and Hand and has been involved in several research programmes helping to establish national guidelines for helping shoulder problems in particular.

In the many years of experience of treating athletes in elite sports Helen worked with clients from the youth teams through to first team, international level rugby players, footballers, dancers, and ice skaters.

Helen has instilled her philosophy on physiotherapy. She has a compassionate and empowering approach and applies her knowledge to help involve you every step of the way, using the latest evidence-based treatment techniques and thorough rehabilitation principles. Helen aims to give you the knowledge and necessary exercises to maintain your health and wellbeing, even after your course of physiotherapy has finished.

Helen is a Chartered Physiotherapist (qualifying from Manchester Royal Infirmary in 1987), is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Helen can offer you the highest quality physiotherapy, gym-based rehabilitation, sports massage, and acupuncture. Helen’s clinical skills include using using active movement, passive physiological or accessory movements and soft tissue techniques to address your joint or muscle disorders, pain or loss of movement and restore normal joint or muscle mechanics.

Helen has joined Back in Action enabling her to bring her diverse range of skills and experience in physiotherapy to help everyone here at the Practice.

Helen currently works from Back-in-Action on Saturday mornings.
