Hi I am Bhavik Patel and I am from Preston. I grew up locally so I am very familiar with Penwortham. I graduated as a chiropractor in 2019, after 4 years of full time training, from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of South Wales.
I knew I wanted to go into healthcare as I was brought up from an early age working in charities where I learnt how to help people in many different forms, from donation collecting and assortment, to personally helping those within the charities. I had also been a member of my local youth club for a number of years where I eventually spent a brief time as a youth leader. This whole process taught me vastly in communicating (especially as a shy kid) and helping the youth and peers through sports and social activities.
I suffered with fatiguing back pain throughout college and had poor outcomes with the treatments from the routine public health services provided to me by my GP and Physiotherapist. As with many people I knew nothing of Chiropractors and when choosing a degree during my time at college my family members suggested shadowing chiropractors who had helped the condition I had suffered from. This brings me to where my journey began, at Back In Action in 2015, after I shadowed Louis and co-workers and their amazing treatments and positive outcomes with their patients, with whom I could relate to, I then knew this is the path I wanted to pursue.
My goal as a chiropractor is to improve the quality of life for my patients and help them maintain that improvement, no matter their age. This not only includes reducing pain, but restoring function to injured areas of the body. Whilst preventative care plays an essential role in my management, I aim to reduce people’s aches and pains, getting them back on track with their lives.
My healthcare interests and passions lie in treating the individual with a tailored healthcare approach and giving alternative options and advice. I strive to help all patients understand their body and educate them about their conditions and give them the tools they need to help self-manage in the long term, with some additional help from us. This is all to help get your body functioning at its optimum to help you achieve your daily needs and goals.
I am continuing to extend my knowledge by completing courses such as Dry Needling, Fascial Movement taping, and chiropractic care of the pregnant pelvis. I am registered with the GCC, BCA & RCC.
I thoroughly enjoy playing Badminton, Squash and Cricket (mainly racket sports!) and I hope to continue playing as I also believe this is a great way to have fun and keep fit. I also enjoy reading non-fiction science books as I love learning.
I hope to see you soon and look forward to working with you to reduce your symptoms and meet your goals!
My working hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. You can check the days and times Bhavik is available here.
During this Coronavirus Lockdown I am advising and triaging patients over the phone line – free of charge. Give us a call or leave a message and we will get back to you asap
