Hi, my name is Luca.

I am a qualified Sports Therapist from Manchester. I graduated and gained my degree in July 2024 from the University of Central Lancashire. I moved to Preston during this time and I enjoyed living here while studying. I was able to build professional relationships with some elite level sports therapists within sport on my range of placements. My main placement at University was at Bolton Wanderers FC first team where I would provide post training massages to professional athletes.

My passion for Sports Therapy and rehab in general started when I had 2 serious injuries myself playing football at a younger age. I have played football throughout my life, my most enjoyable stage of football was playing for UCLan’s football team. I spent my last year of playing as part of the committee where I was nominated for vice chairman.

From an early age I knew I wanted to be involved in football and the injuries I sustained helped me pursue my career in Sports Therapy. I understand how frustrating injuries can be, whether they are major injuries or something smaller and I now have a passion and dedication to help people and improve their symptoms as soon as possible.

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy. This gave me skills in the following:
• Injury diagnosis
• Subjective and objective assessment
• Special tests
• Soft tissue massage
• Joint and spine mobilisations
• Full rehabilitation – early stage to functional
• Strength and conditioning
• Sports specific training/rehab

My main Sports Therapy experience is working within football. I currently work at Preston North End FC academy working with elite athletes from the ages of 9-18. My role here is diagnosing injuries, providing effective rehab and managing medical emergencies.

Before joining Back-in-Action I was also working as a Rehabilitation Assistant with clients that have acquired brain injuries.

In my spare time I enjoy playing football, playing golf with friends and going to the gym.
