Are you aiming to join a successful, innovative and ethical clinic? Is your goal to learn how to identify and prioritise the deeper issues underlying your patient’s back and neck pain to improve your professional skills, results and confidence?
We are looking for an exceptional associate who enjoys problem solving, lateral thinking and having fun. Strong ethical and communication skills are viewed as essential; together with the motivation to build a busy, vibrant practise.
We’re a team of chiropractors aiming to integrate and develop chiropractic afferentation diagnostic techniques and provide the best quality of care for our patients.
We’re interested in how all the joints (from head to toe), the soft tissues (including fascia and organs) and nervous system, mutually influence each other. We’ve found that learning how to detect and prioritize the variety of structural, functional and chemical stresses, reveals many surprising causes of patient symptoms and enables us as practitioners to work with a greater certainty, confidence and creativity. Whilst keeping practice interesting and rewarding for the chiropractor, it also helps engage and empower patients in their journey towards greater wellbeing. For an insight into the care and experience we aim to deliver, please read our patient testimonials.
The post is P/T or F/T and self-employed, replacing a chiropractor who has left the clinic after a prolonged period of ill health. It would suit a newly qualified or experienced chiropractor. As required, training and support will be plentiful.
Whether you’re a practitioner advanced in a certain area of chiropractic and want to collaborate and develop or new with a passion and self-motivation to learn, we’re interested in hearing from you. For us learning always work both ways. So please get in touch if this kind of work appeals to you.
We’re busy, largely through the standard of care we provide and word of mouth recommendation that generates. The clinic is family run, is not part of a chain and aims to maintain a friendly, genuine community of practitioners, delivering a great service.
The clinic emphasises a collaborative sharing of skills, knowledge and experience allowing practitioners to contribute and develop, to maximise patient outcomes and avoid common pitfalls not often discussed in chiropractic training. We aim to provide you with an environment in which you’re free to direct your own life, which inspires you improve your skills and remain impassioned about the amazing potential of chiropractic. Mentoring and support will be provided as required. We recommend regular meetings on a flexible structure. Some of our chiropractors like meet 1-2 times a fortnight, for 1-2 hours and then have lunch. Others prefer monthly meetings. We have chiropractors affiliated with the BCA, UCA, and RCoC.

Our principle chiropractor Louis has been developing and testing functional and structural optimisation in practise since graduating in 1996. His personal approach integrates elements of diversified, functional neurology, applied kinesiology, visceral techniques, cranial work, neuro-emotional technique, nutrition, extremity work, SOT and a wide range of other chiropractic treatment techniques, rehab, orthotic, ergonomic and muscle testing based procedures. The other associates practise along similar lines.
Promotion and Incentives
The clinic opened in 2002 and is well established with a database of 10,000+ clients. New practitioners will be actively marketed and previous candidates rapidly built up their practises. We offer a £2,000 repayable loan and guarantee a £2,000 minimum in the second month for a full time associate.
Hours are flexible within normal clinic working hours. We are predicting a weekly figure of 50-90 patient’s per week based on past performance of chiropractors, length of patient slots and hours worked. We usually find working 15-20 minute slots are best for the quality of care we like to deliver, though in the past we have worked 10 minute slots at peak times. To support clinic costs we would ideally expect a minimum of 50 PPW 46 weeks of the year (Full Time). The post is self-employed. The service charge is percentage based, which decreases with numbers of patients seen and time working at the clinic, up to a minimum of 45% (i.e. over time you can retain a maximum of 55%).
Opportunity to Grow
The clinic has a proven ability to attract more patients per week than it currently sees. It is operating between 50-100 patients per week below it’s maximum level due to reduced hours from the senior chiropractors and has the capacity to grow beyond this with the additional treatment rooms now available and maturity and reputation of the clinic. Our 3rd chiropractor is probably expecting to return home to Europe sometime in 2018.
The clinic has seen and average of 500-600 new patients a year since 2009. The two principal chiropractors are operating well above 80% full on a weekly average and are usually as close to fully booked as possible. Our 3rd chiropractor, who currently works 2 afternoons with us, has been with us over a year and is still growing his practice.
The opportunity for chiropractic growth in the UK remains huge. Despite being established in the UK for nearly a century, the chiropractic profession is still relatively small. On average the UK has one chiropractor for every 22,000 in the population, which is significantly less than many countries. Many of the chiropractors who train at UK colleges are from overseas and return back to their country of origin after graduation. Coupled with the number of UK chiropractors approaching retirement the profession is growing extremely slowly. We need more chiropractors!
The clinic has 7 large treatment rooms, 3 of which are used by various therapists. There are 3 dedicated chiropractic rooms and 4th room that is not allocated and can be made available. (We’ve extended since this photo!)
The clinic currently has 3 chiropractors (1 works Part Time), 4 therapists who do combinations of massage, sports rehabilitation and CranioSacral Therapy. We also currently have therapists who offer acupuncture, hypnotherapy, neurological physiotherapy and other techniques.
The clinic is in the leafy suburb of Penwortham, 1 mile out of Preston town centre. Preston is situated in central Lancashire with good transport links across the country and access to airports. It is an excellent place to enjoy the outdoors, though is under an hour into central Manchester and Liverpool. While it has many local attractions, places such as the Lake District, Peak District, North Wales, North Yorkshire are an hours drive or so. Frequent fast trains means that the journey to London Euston is only a couple of hours.
There are many excellent schools in the area. It has it’s own university, is the county administrative centre and has significant percentage of the population working in high tech industries, such as aeronautical.
The chiropractors are supported by a great team of reception and admin staff who often get positive comments in the patient testimonials.
If you’re looking to join a busy, friendly multidisciplinary chiropractic clinic, focused on providing an outstanding service to patients, with the aid of muscle testing, AK and functional neurology please get in contact.
To arrange an informal chat with Louis please call us on 01772 749389 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, an application form and to submit your CV. Thanks!
