Medication

How Should You Use Painkillers ot Other Medications To Help Ease Your Pain?

Any drug given to you by your GP or consultant should be continued with as prescribed. Drugs can certainly have a role in helping you recover. Drugs may help control the pain but do not cure. Whilst they may help you ‘get going’, it must be remembered that by masking the pain you can risk further injury or aggravation if you are not careful.

Also certain drugs – for example Ibuprofen – have serious potential consequences if taken for an extended time. Other drugs can also affect recovery by interfering with the bodies healing ability.

Chiropractic is a drug and surgery free approach and we prefer to use a natural approach. However a simple and safe way to control the pain is by taking 2 tablets of Paracetamol or soluble Aspirin every 4 – 6 hours. Or you can use anti-inflammatory tablets like Ibuprofen.

Whatever you do, do it regularly and do not wait until you pain is out of control. Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen if you have indigestion or an ulcer problem or have other known side effects. If you need some advice about problems with opiate medication please follow the link.

If you have any questions please consult your GP or local pharmacist.
